Taking teenagers and young adults off the streets of Lagos, providing education and essential skills for a brighter future.
Founded in July 2013 by our visionary leader Angela Johnson, TADYF (formerly Angela Johnson Empowerment Foundation) has been dedicated to transforming young lives in Lagos. What began in a small apartment at Bucknor office with 5-10 teenagers has grown into a comprehensive youth development organization.
Our journey started with vocational skills training, focusing on empowering teenagers through our biannual Skill Acquisition Program (SAP). Angela Johnson, our founder, invested heavily in teaching dress-making skills to teenagers monthly, creating opportunities for sustainable livelihoods.
As AJEF, we expanded our mission to include supporting widows in our community, providing them with valuable skills for economic independence. This holistic approach to community development has been a cornerstone of our work.
In January 2022, we launched our groundbreaking '120 Naira a Day School' initiative. Starting with just 7 students, this educational center has flourished to accommodate 100 students, offering JAMB and WAEC preparation classes. This program has become a beacon of hope for children from low-income families, making quality education accessible to all.
